The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is an international body of logistics and transport professionals established in the United Kingdom in 1919 and received the royal Charter in 1926. It was registered in Tanzania under the Societies Act, Cap 337 on 3rd March 2008 to raise the standard of performance of the logistics and transport industry in the country, to promote safety and security in all modes of transport, to foster investigation and research into the development of logistics and transport and to provide professional advise to the industry, government and the community. .
